Please add back the option to keep the update window open #738

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. In earlier versions (back in Mint 18 or 19), the Synaptic window (titled "applying updates") had a check-box in the lower left corner specifying if the window should be auto-closed when updates were applied or not. That box is long gone now, and the window always auto-closes – which makes it hard to check the logs.

Describe the solution you'd like Ideally, the checkbox is added back (maybe even enabled by default, to keep the current behavior) so one gets a chance to keep the window open and read the update logs.

Describe alternatives you've considered Some "hidden" option (i.e. without direct interface in the updater window) which power-users can toggle using dconf-editor should do as well, if this feature is considered to be "rarely needed".

View/Information should do this for you, and I wonder if that's why they removed the option to leave the window open. Unfortunately, View/Information does not contain everything that scrolled by. If I'm understanding what you wrote, resolving the issue that I opened earlier (https://github.com/linuxmint/mintupdate/issues/658) would obviate the need to bring back the option of leaving the window open.

@edschindler that would still mean one had to navigate around to get to it – instead of just pressing "close" when done (or un-tick the "keep window open" checkbox), as it was with earlier versions of Mint.
