Excessive disk usage when checking for updates in Linux Mint Update Manager #820

Describe the bug When Mint Update checking for update (Automatically in the background or manually) my Hard Disk Drive becomes slowdown for few moment in Linux Mint 21.1

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Linux Mint Update Manager
  2. Click on Check For Update button
  3. And my Hard Disk Drive becomes slowdown for few moment

Expected behavior Linux Mint Update Manager should not make excessive disk usage when Checking For Updates.

Software version: 5.9.8.
