editing nemo bookmarks freezes whole system (real & virtual machine)

 * Is issue with desktop or windowed nemo?
 * Distribution - (Mint 20.1 Cinnamon..)
 * Graphics hardware *and* driver used Nvidia 940MX Laptop, driver 450?
 * 64 bit

Issue

Editing bookmarks via nemo bookmarks menu whole system freezes after entering an https address for the bookmark Same behaviour on Laptop as on virtual machine After reboot and successful login error message something like "xserver cinnamon session could not be restored"... Thereafter blank display, mouse visible, no cinnamon... :-(

Steps to reproduce

• open nemo
• go to "edit bookmarks" (I guess, I'm using the german version)
• I typed something like "https://192.168.1.218" for my NAS
• closing the window the system seems to freeze, mouse still moving

Expected behaviour

• no crash

Other information using CTRL-ALT-F1 works to get a terminal removing config files for nemo didn't help removing nemo completely didn't help booting recovery mode didn't help

Try removing ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks

You need to use the File->Connect to server feature to connect like this, https isn't supported.

It shouldn't freeze your system either but it doesn't do that for me here, and the bookmarks feature is system-wide and not something nemo controls - it just utilizes it.
