Cinnamon freezes when selecting and deleting multiple files #2819

 * Cinnamon version (cinnamon --version) 5.0.5
   - Please specify if you are using the daily builds PPA
     (https://launchpad.net/~linuxmint-daily-build-team/+archive/ubuntu/daily-builds). No
 * Distribution - (Mint 17.2, Arch, Fedora 25, etc...)  Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon
 * Graphics hardware *and* driver used Intel Corporation UHD Graphics 620, default drivers
 * 32 or 64 bit 64 bit
 * Attach ~/.xsession-errors, or /var/log/syslog

Issue Nemo and cinnamon freezes when attempting to delete multiple files

Steps to reproduce Select multiple files in a folder, via Ctrl + A or other means Press the delete key or right click and click move to recycle bin Observe that the session completely freezes and with enough files, even crashes on occasions.

Expected behaviour The files should be deleted without freezing the session or crashing it

I have been experiencing this issue since I started using cinammon back in 2016. Still happening in 2023 using 21.1.

I don't feel very enthusiastic about seeing a solution anytime soon, other than moving away from cinammon.
