Refresh free space on file system #3124

 * Nemo version 2.5.4
 * Desktop Nemo
 * Mint 20.3
 * 64 bit

Issue When freeing up space on the File System, there should be a way to refresh the free space measurement (see image) image

Steps to reproduce

  1. Hover over the "File system" entry in the left sidebar to see the amount of free space
  2. Move a big file/directory from the file system to e.g. external storage
  3. Hover over the "File system" entry in the left sidebar again
  4. The amount of free space has not been updated

Expected behaviour The free space should be updated. Either instantly, or through a context menu option (i.e. right click > "Refresh"). Currently, the only way to see the updated free space is to open a new Nemo window.

Other information The little green bar is not as important, but it would be nice if it updated as well.

Did you carry out the move operation wholly within nemo? If some external method was used, you could try a refresh (F5) operation in nemo to update the free space details.

  1. Yes, I moved the directory with Ctrl + X and Ctrl + V in Nemo
  2. F5 does not update the free space, neither does Ctrl + R. Neither the free space on the local file system, nor the one on the external storage change. In a new window, they are properly updated.

This has been around a long time, I think this is the first report though, surprisingly.
