I want to bring this topic up again. I think this is already within the scope of the application implementation. And improved usability. The next step will be the ability to minimize the application to tray when closed. For example, make a separate checkmark for this when setting up.

I was just about to post this exact request. My use case is to create a Web App for the Whatsapp web client. I would like it to minimize to tray. Thank you!

By the way, the whatsapp-desktop package should be removed from Linux Mint's Software Manager. It is unsupported and broken. The developer of that package has stated that he abandoned the project because Facebook issued DCMA Takedown Notice for all projects on GitHub with "Whatsapp" in the name.

The only supported/approved way to use Whatsapp on the desktop is via the Whatsapp web client (https://web.whatsapp.com/) which is very easy to use via Linux Mint Web Apps. Therefore the "whatsapp-desktop" package is no longer necessary, maintained, or supported and should be removed.
