Issue
The dash indicating a break in the middle of a word shows up in contexts where it's less than ideal, like long paths:
It would be nice to have a way to turn the marker off, or at the very least to select a different character for it (such as ↲).

Enter the text above into a sufficiently narrow xed window.

It only seems to happen when a long string of text is broken up by certain characters, including /, -, |, and — (emdash). (I didn't test others.)
