Database patch for view rules may have affected roles permisisons #205

  1. The prd gazetteer DB was dump and restored to the dev server for testing purposes.
  2. Then the update to gazetteer_geometry_views.sql required for QGIS3 porting was 'deployed' to the dev server DB instance.

The Bug

Initial plugin user tests failed (see #203) due to lack of roles assigned to the views on the test DB. It is asumed step two above resulted in the lost of the correct roles.

This was resolved by setting DB roles to match the prd DB (see #203 ).

This will affect eventual PRD deployment and must be first considered.

Is this something we include some deployment docs? And then it could be automated later?

Deployment is fairly ad-hoc at the moment so there is not a lot to add to. The NZGB when looking to modernise their DB will have undertake a significant piece of work to development modern deployment practices.
