Automate testing

Reconfigure tests to be platform independent.

• [x] remove worst residual sections where order of residuals is ambiguous
• [x] handle 0.000 vs -0.000 differences
• [x] handle very small numbers which differ eg 0.13245e-17
• [x] handle rounding differences???

Add script to run tests on all components (to the extent they are built) and obtain useful test report

Rebuild test scripts to permit running on windows or linux (ie to avoid maintaining .bat and .sh files)

Check for untested components

Consider implementing in travis or similar
