Using a # as the first character for the channel name #322

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Create a group with #name
2. Invite people
3. they get a bad request error. 

Also trying to visit the web page for the channel creates the BAD REQUEST error

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Please provide any additional information below.
Its quite useful being able to use a # or other character to move it to the top 
of the chat list.
