Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install the latest version of Lato from the Mercurial repo.
2. Type a text sample in Lato Bold into Adobe Illustrator.
3. Select "Create Outlines" from the Type menu in Illustrator.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output: the font displays as normal when converted to outlines.
Actual output: the font appears 'squished', as shown in the attached SVG image.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Illustrator CS4; Lato 1.004 (Mercurial revision bd6dd464f909); Mac OS X 10.7.2.

Turns out this is a known bug with ttfautohint - and because of this, Łukasz
has released a separate version for desktop use.

Thus, this bug can be closed.

Exactly the same also happens with Rokkitt

This bug can now be closed, at least with respect to Lato. Latest commit of
that font fixes the autohint shredding.

Has there been a solution with Rokkitt? I'm having the same problem too.

The above link is not working, is there another source for Lato desktop version?
