Crash when starting Windows 95

The title is self-explanatory. I don't know why this happens. Both the actual OS and the installer crash when loaded off a disk image and DOS just freezes when win.com is ran.

it seems to crash during the switch from real mode to protected mode

Try only command mode, or your config file lost an enter. I was that.

it was something screwed up with DOSPad's config file (I must've changed the wrong thing by accident or something)

Windows 95 or higher is not really working on DOSBox and this iOS fork. Several forks for DOSBox for the desktop (e.g. dosbox-x) have better Windows 95 support.

Actually i just got Windows 98 SE running on the latest release of this iOS fork, tho its a bit of a pain to setup.

For reference if anyone ever wants to do this too here are some things i did:

Get JDosBox
Get OSFMount
Get IMGMAKE
Create a 2GB (or less but keep in mind installer needs space) img file on the iOS version (because doing that on the pc seems to prevent OSFMount to mount it in read/write)
partition and format it on iOS
copy over the img to the pc and install win98 there into that img (might mount using OSFMount and copy windows installer to it)
mount the img in read/write using OSFMount and change shell in SYSTEM.INI to shell=Winfile.exe
copy img back to iOS and boot, should work.

Then there is obviosly more you can add to it but this should get you a base system to work with. Also if you got troubles (like me) to start the win 98 setup.exe in JDosBox you can do that step in DosBox Daum (but do not boot with that version after windows requests to restart as it throws errors)
