This includes two changes in kernel config (I can split into 2 PRs if you prefer):
Enable tmpfs: should fix the errors mount: mounting tmpfs on ... failed: Invalid argument. If this was intended, I would suggest changing the default /etc/fstab and remove the corresponding lines.
Enable /proc/config.gz: I think this is very useful for pre-built images, where there is no way to know otherwise the exact original kernel configuration. The cost is an extra ~15 kB in the kernel image.
I understand that you are targetting devices with as little as 32 MB RAM, but I'm hoping that this is small enough to not be considered bloat.
