Enhancing the "What is SystemML" section #56

Open litteredwitherrors opened 7 years ago

Enhancing the "What is SystemML" section on the main page to also include deep learning here. Vijay brought up the idea that we could also show the existing 3 min SystemML video here - the one that we already have. And we could also link to one of Freds 30min SystemML Spark Summit talks on youtube.

Should we move this to JIRA? Here's an updated file with TLP announcement, link to interviews video and more generalized Contribute section that includes a link to the roadmap: https://ibm.box.com/s/550j513qg0gvrs526mnskppnirn8zpa1

updated about copy:

Apache SystemML provides declarative, large-scalable machine learning and deep learning. Data scientists are able to implement algorithms and neural network architectures in a high-level language without knowledge of distributed programming or Apache Spark. Depending on data characteristics such as data size/shape and data sparsity (dense/sparse), and cluster characteristics such as cluster size and memory configurations, SystemML's cost-based optimizing compiler automatically generates hybrid runtime execution plans that are composed of single-node and distributed operations on a Apache Spark cluster for best performance. Very soon, additional deep learning capabilities will allow for importing and running popular neural network architectures and pre-trained models from Caffe for training and scoring in SystemML.
