Unable to download comments with some videos #48

For a months or so, I've occasionally been unable to get comment files with some videos. It didn't happen that often at first, but the last 5 days or so I've suddenly had this issue with more and more videos. NicoFox downloads the video but fails to download comment files, saying "Cannot get extra items." Does anyone else have this issue? I'm using NicoFox 1.0b6pre.

Seems to be an issue with newer videos, haven't had any problems with videos older than, say, 2 months so far.

Getting this issue as well with 1.0b5.1. At the moment the workaround seems to be to disable comment downloading, but with how amusing the comments can be sometimes it's quite a shame =(

Same here. The API document says to use http://msg.nicovideo.jp/**/api, but the site's player is requesting from http://nmsg.nicovideo.jp/api instead. A quiet API change?

nmsg API issue is fixed in 831d73e6e833333c31c7cc0e6226d0fdf071545f and a 1.0.1 will be sent to AMO soon.

The new version indeed works with all the videos I couldn't download with comments before, many thanks. I'm glad to see this great extension still being updated. :)

One thing I noticed though, with some videos, I get less comments when downloading with 1.0.1 than with 1.0b6pre. For example: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm22176877 1.0b6pre ja-1000, zh-1000, en-836 1.0.1 ja-281, zh-288, en-281

Then again, with some other (lengthier?) videos such as http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm28366091 I get more with 1.0.1 than with 1.0b6pre: 1903 and 1000 comments respectively. Is this a bug of some sort or just a compromise in order to get comments downloading working for all videos?
