Stereo - Dolby Surround Decoding #122

Would be great if it's possible to decode Dolby Sourround (the analog 5.1 ;-) )
on stereo sources. With ffdshow it works.

Its certainly a possibility for the future, but not soon.

Also, sample that was encoded with Dolby Surround enabled would be nice.

i think you can use almost all stereo content on tv-satellite. when you hear a
"stereo" stream, then the voice comes out of the center with dolby surround
analog.
almost all stereo content's on tv are dolby surround encoded.

now with lavfilters the problem is, that with stereo sources, the signal is
only on left and right speaker. no voice from center speaker.

The trick to getting the stereo sound to be decoded by the AVR is to output the
sound as Stereo. Currently, it doesn't change the windows speaker config, so
it decodes the stereo sound to the left and right channels, but then sends all
6 channels out to the receiver (the extra ones being silent). ReClock, on the
other hand, will actually change the speaker config to match the audio
channels, so the AVR can do it's thing.
