Just an idea, but in reading your second Data source note, I wondered if eventually we could get shared polygons organized for the Salish sea and for sub-sections of it, like the central Salish Sea you are using, as well as what I tend to call Puget Sound proper (i.e. inland waters south and east of Port Townsend and Deception Pass). One place I'm starting to put such things is this repo -- https://github.com/salish-sea/whale-ocean-alert

You could also ask Aquila if she has plans to open source a polygon for the Salish Sea (as she defines it in the Salish Sea Atlas)...

Great idea! This is an area with room of improvement. The splitting of central Salish Sea vs Puget Sound in the dashboard is rough at the moment as I have been focusing on other aspects of the dashboard. They definitely need to be better honed and I think the polygons you shared are great place to start! I'll add them to my to-do list.
