@ios122 There is no general solution to translate Atom since it's dependent to different UI (e.g. menu, context-menu, settings-page, etc.)

May you explain more about the scenario you think of? Is it about translating custom package in menu?

Not only on the UI, is on the menu. I was using git-plus package. in atom-i18n, it has no corresponding Chinese translation. I want to use their own translation. Under the promotion, each editor Atom users may have their own preferences may not be necessary to use their own Package. if these are not the widespread use of Package international? All the international document translation, all together, might not be a good idea.

@ios122 Currently we are concentrating on translation of Atom itself, but not on any packages for now. What I understood from your words is that we should let users do translations for each package they like, and publish them in separate packages. Is that what you would try to do?

Similar to the current Atom custom shortcut keys. If not Package developers can also own locally on their computer, define various shortcuts.

@ios122 Understand. In my opinion, it would require all packages to follow a standard about strings inside the packages, so users can change these strings easily. What I've come with is to let package makers put all text inside a .cson file. Unfortunately I haven't come up with any detail about how to do it (hope I didn't go to far from the original topic).

IMO technically it's possible for this package since the "scope" is limited to "menus". All we need to do is to grab the menu item and edit it. Will add this to features, and also PR is welcomed : ].

BTW in terms of translating all content of a 3rd party package, currently it's is not supported by this package nor Atom API. (there's also related discussion #5)

The closest workaround is to overwrite the cson or string-in-the-code of 3rd packages out of Atom.

Now it supports custom cson file to translate the menu in latest v0.9.0 It's really welcome to send me any feedback about this feature.
