Error in bigbluebutton.log: Conference NNNNN not found on clean install #661

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.  Install BigBlueButton 0.71-beta
2.  sudo bbb-conf --clean
3.  Join the Demo Meeting 

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The output from 

   sudo bbb-conf --debug

shows

firstuser@clean-vm-20101017-00:~$ sudo bbb-conf --debug

Everthing seems to work, so not sure if this error was a real error or not.

This error does not appear after bbb-conf --clean when running asterisk; only 
with FreeSWITCH.

Marking as priority-low (very low) and removing from 0.71 milestone.

We can revisit the error message as part of a future iteration.

Is it disconnecting on a regular cycle (i.e. every 60 seconds)?

Yes, every 5-10 seconds with Chrome
Hardly connects with IE8, and then disconnects repeatedly

Solved the issue: uninstall Flash, cleanup registry, reboot the computer

I have the same problem ... bbb reconnects all the time with the written error 
above ... how to uninstall flash?

Are you on a wireless network?  We noticed the auto reconnect code in 0.71a 
would have problems repeatedly reconnecting when connected via wireless 
network.  This might be related to

We're disabling the auto reconnect in 0.8.

I never succeeded with BBB since this time. I am now using 0.80 beta 4 : this 
error still appears:

I am always using wireless (is there any there means to connect to the internet 
nowadays?)

Not sure yet what is causing the problems ... but wanted to ask if the above 
statement meant it was working with an earlier version of BigBlueButton?

I do remember that it worked with 0.6, but since 0.71 I could not get it work 
reliably and did not had an urgent need for BBB.
Now I am trying to get it works for good, and it really looks the same issue in 
0.8 than in 0.71.
It is just that instead of reconnecting, it just disconnects as expected by the 
new 0.8 behaviour

These errors are still in 0.8-beta-4 ... however they don't prevent a session 
from starting.  

You can ignore these errors for now ... but let us know if you are having 
problems with BigBlueButton itself.

When it disconnects, it disconnects - so in short BBB does not work from the 
client side.
But may be these errors are not related?
The problem is that there aren't any other errors...

Would you suggest a full wipe up of bbb and clean reinstall, and so how? I have 
tried but got many errors when re-installing

No, this does not atch.
I do not use Windows 7, the problem arise even with my android phone.

I just tried the server and can experienced the disconnect.  Have you made any 
modifications to BigBlueButton?  Is this server behind a firewall?

This server is dedicated to BBB and backups
It has also Webmin / Virtualmin installed with Apache for test sites, the 
Apache port was changed to 88.
I did not made any modif apart that I tried something from what I read on BBB 
forums by changing the hosts in  /usr/share/red5/conf/red5.properties from 
0.0.0.0 to 188.165.208.179. Shall I revert?

I am able to connect fine when I go to
http://188.165.208.179/

If you are concerned about this log, you can ignore it. Basically, what's 
happening is that when the user joins into the meeting, we query FreeSWITCH if 
there are users in the voice conference. If there is none, FreeSWITCH returns 
Conference xxxx not found. However, we expect the response in an XML format.

OK...I got disconnected from your server after a couple of minutes.

If you want, can we ssh to your server to poke around?

Email me directly the username/password to your server to connect using SSH.

NOTE: The following is not related to the original issue but on the 
disconnecting issue after 1 minute.

The cause is that the meeting is set to end after 1 minute. The setting is in 
/var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/bigbluebutton/WEB-INF/classes/bigbluebutton.properties.

# Default duration of the meeting in minutes.
# Current default is 0 (meeting doesn't end).
defaultMeetingDuration=1

The default value is zero (0) which means no duration and can be overridden by 
passing a new value in the create API.

Thanks you so much for pinpointing this.
I mistaken this parameter with defaultMeetingExpireDuration...

This has really nothing to do with the original issue, it is just a stupid 
mistake...

Gultekin, you can ignore this error message.  It has no negative side effects 
when you see it in the logs, which is why we've not invested any effort to date 
in removing it.
