Echo in voice conference #772

Hello,

Echo in voice conference is a big issue for me. I know I can solve the echo
issue if I follow the instruction given in FAQ
(http://code.google.com/p/bigbluebutton/wiki/FAQ#Why_is_there_an_echo_in_the_voi
ce_conference?).

However, in most of my situation, I had conferences with people in rooms. Each
room has several or even over 10 persons but only one computer. And, our
conference discussion was free discussion. It was not easy to use the "raise
hand" function. I am think if you can work on this. I know that skype does not
have this problem, even if you use a laptop and use the buit-in mic and
speakers.

Thank you very much.

Hi Nathan Zhao,

Because BigBlueButton uses Asterisk/FreeSWITCH, you can engage a SIP Trunking
provider to provide a dial in direct (DID) phone number to the
Asterisk/FreeSWITCH server.

When you dial in through the phone system, Asterisk/FreeSWITCH provide echo
cancellation.

You can try this on our demo server (it has a dial-in number in the chat
window).

As for adding echo cancellation in VoIP, this one is out of our hands. It's a
business decision by adobe not to offer it in Flash. Again, your best path is
to setup DIDs to your Asterisk/FreeSWITCH server.
