Had a conversation with traffic engineer Ryan Roberts today. He said he'd make a note of the issue, and that 80% of the roads with faded lines should be repainted during the summer paving schedule (12th included). Few roads have been repainted in the last 5 years due to the city having inadequate equipment and staffing for painting, forcing them to hire contractors. Now they're in a much better position to catch up on the painting backlog.
Made personal task to check if this has been done
Not done. Made task to catalog places along 12th and Fort where bike lanes can be extended without interfering with car lanes and provide a traffic calming benefit besides.
Decided to start smaller than a whole cycling network completion plan and focus on Fort Avenue, so may hold off on re-reporting this. Made a personal task to recheck status and ensure it has not been done.
Checked and thought it hadn't been lengthened, but I'm second-guessing myself after seeing the old picture. Maybe they lengthened it by 10ft but not the whole way???
Keeping task on personal list to check again!
Definitely not extended. Bike lane on both ends and yellow double center lines are all way back from the new intersection.
Made personal task to check again before reporting to Citizens First. Really should have reported right after I saw it wasn't done in December.
Reported through Citizens First this time:
Good afternoon. On 12th Street, where it intersects with Monroe Street, the road centerline, parking lane line, and bike lane lines all end about 50 feet before reaching Monroe Street from the southwest. I expect this is because the lines were painted before a large triangle of asphalt on the south side of this intersection was replaced with grass and sidewalks. Please paint these lines all the way to Monroe Street to match the new road design and improve clarity for all road users. Thank you in advance for your time. Nathan
Made personal task to see if fixed yet.
Definitely not fixed. Resending email with different subject line.
Emailed:
Good morning!
Resending this message because I think it got lost somewhere in city government:

On further inspection of my picture, there is a white painted line parallel to where bike lane extension would go. Maaaybe this is a marker for paint/thermoplastic workers to put down a line?
Received response:
Good morning, I have forwarded this over to Traffic Engineering as request #24-010544. Thank you for making us aware. Have a great holiday!

Probably drawn before they extended the corner to have a less pedestrian-hostile radius.
