Called Tim Yarn at +1 434 455 4457 and left a message requesting a callback.
I want to make sure their sidewalk designs...
May have missed call, as my phone balance ran out around 7a on 2023-08-10. Need to check in with him again in the next few days.
Called to follow up with Tim Yarn again and left a message requesting callback.
Saw Colombia Gas technician making utility markings around the intersection of Wadsworth Street and Euclid Avenue this morning
Used website chat to communicate with Lynchburg Citizens First Information Center. When I asked for city engineer's number, they said to call Belton Hamlett at 434-455-4457. Not sure who that is, but called them. Voicemail message said I was leaving a message with C. Benjamin or K. Benjamin (could not make out first name). Left voicemail requesting callback to discuss Wadsworth sidewalk project.
Received call from Tim Yarn Benjamin, who I spoke to the other day (guess I'm hard of hearing when listening to vmail prompts), then butt-answered, then called him back. He gave me the number of John Hall in city engineering (434 455 3935), as I lost it right after I spoke with him yesterday. Calling John Hall shortly.
Called John Hall and inquired about Wadsworth sidewalk project. He said his colleague Tommy Hammock (434 455 3918) was in charge of the project, so he transferred me to his voicemail. Left message inquiring about project and requesting callback.
Received voicemail from Tommy Hammock and called him back.
Crosswalk was painted across Wadsworth St. at Euclid Ave., so things are happening.
Called Tommy Hammock today and requested an update. He said the project is still in design phase, then will need to pass design review, then will take a few months for the city's annual contractor to schedule and build. Seems like sometime early next year it will be built.
I also asked him whether there's a way to learn about these projects without calling public works. He said for these internal city projects there is no public-facing database.
I should have asked him about whether this was part of a larger sidewalk completion effort.
Spoke to Tommy Hammock about another project and brought up this one. He said contractor has about 1.5 months until they start the project before this one, so maybe 2.5 months from now. Sometime in the summer.
Saw surveyors in area yesterday

This is already happening, as I talked to surveyors about it the other day and utility markings are on the ground. Adding this enhancement issue to track progress and communication with authorities.
