Add copy of banner so we don't lose it; add credit to Merry. #42

Adds a copy of the updated banner (which we need to propagate onto the website) as well as putting credit to Merry in the proper places.

@mrshirts - a related issue is that the "About" page currently has content at the bottom which is not reflected in the about.md document here; did you need to update that? The content is:
