we're working on a new react components version that will make this kind of use case a lot easier, we're planning to have a preview for it by the end of the year. you can join the community on slack to get notified right away!
From looking at the implementation of GridStage, it doesn't seem like there's a way to force grid size to "max" out at a certain threshold (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!).
My use case here is to force a maximum grid size of 2x2 to reduce network traffic out of my livekit instance.
