If you are new to Github, then welcome to the platform where all the magic happens!

This post is for the Titan Node - Start Up Grant, where the goal is to introduce new comers to the Livepeer Github repository and demonstrate how easy it is to use.

Anyone can create and issue, contribute in conversation, and improve the Livepeer protocol to grow and fulfil its global mandate to become The World’s Open Video Infrastructure.

If you are applying for the Titan Node - Start Up Grant, then please post below and get started with contributing to this repository by introducing yourself.

You can also select a post you've made from somewhere else in this repository and submit it with your application instead of posting below.

Happy Transcoding!

Hi, Thanks for creating this opportunity. I'm not a programmer, but I know some shell. I have filled out the Google Form to apply. This was my first contribution to the Livepeer repo - https://github.com/livepeer/wiki/pull/62

pschroedl commented 2 years ago

Hello Titan-Node and Livepeer contributors - My only contribution so far was to add some tested GPUs (https://github.com/livepeer/wiki/pull/61), but I'm getting familiar with Go at work and hope to be able to contribute in a more meaningful way to go-livepeer. I would be happy to pick up a task if any of the core contributors can tag some 'good first issues'.

Hi Titan-Node. I am far from being a proficient Go developer, but I am working on a python-based routing solution (similar to yondon's livepeer_router). I hope to have a stable working version to share in the near future. I have also tried to be an active member of the Discord community and help people when I can.

Hi Titan-Node!

I'm not a developer (I can work my way around Ubuntu, kinda) so I'll just throw in a basic introduction...

I'm Ben, the owner and operator of the Authority_Null Orchestrator. In a few day's my node will be transcoding for a full month and I'm hoping I can hit 100,000 minutes before then. The ultimate goal, however is to partner up with some trusted collogues of mine and scale across the globe.

Also, I've been having a blast hanging around in the discord and I think I've learned more about networking and Web 3.0 from the Livepeer community then I have anywhere else, EVER.

I've haven't studied networking, and like I said I'm not a programmer or developer but if if things keep going the way they are, who knows.

Hey!

We go by NightNode, our site is https://www.nightnode.net. We've been running as an orchestrator for almost 6 months now and pre Layer 2 we had claimed 5 Winning tickets for about .90 eth. We are also a livepeer org grant recipient to develop documentation and scripts to help bridge the barrier between users and skill level. We are also very active on the main discord.

We just made the move to Layer 2 on Monday and have been able to do daily reward calls since! our reward cut is 10% for now, but eventually we want to get it as low as possible (4-5%) and the fee cut is 65% and will lower that to 50% once the volume picks up.

We're, as far as I am aware, currently the only known Orchestrator that is utilizing the redeemer feature of livepeer which allows us to spin up remote orchestrators around the world in a trustless manner, we have multiple partnerships with other transcoders/orchestrators that transcode for us on a partnership basis. Winning tickets get redeemed by our O and then after the fee cut of our orchestrator is split with the transcoder who won the ticket.

We are hoping with community support that we can grow into a long lasting node that has the interest of the community at heart and want to be as transparent as possible for everyone involved :)

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Hi folks…wanted to take a quick moment to say hello and introduction. We are a small group of technology enthusiasts determined to see Web3 run its course to mainstream. In recent weeks we have worked through the process of configuring/deploying an orchestrator on the LivePeer network.

Our goal is to provide infrastructure/technology to blockchain projects like LivePeer and others to change the way the world and our children engage one another in the future. We are excited to be here and look forward to contributing/giving back to the community.

Hi guys!

Our name is Livetranscoder, our website is https://livetranscoder.xyz. We're a team of software engineer working in the server hosting industry. The orchestrator is running since mid-july, we are using Kubernetes to host our infrastructure with a lot of monitoring using Grafana and Prometheus.

We are currently running on New-York, Frankfurt and deploying a cluster in Singapore!

The end goal is to provide a solution for outsiders to easily start transcoding using our reliable network without having to run your own orchestrator. We also want to fit into this a profitable situation for our delegators with the lowest cuts possible.

Hi Everyone,

Chase Media here, our node has been running since February 2022 and have had involvement with Titan Node from early 2021. Really excited to be a part of a protocol which is so early in web3 video streaming development.

At Chase Media we run a North American based, high performance node. Supporting the evolution of blockchain technologies through educational content and video, inspired by video mining itself.

We have gained traction this week with gaining more stake and in turn more transcoding work which is exciting and encouraging. We would like to assist with getting Livepeer more well known by investors and gaining broadcasters to the protocol to have web3 live streaming go mainstream!

Hi there, We’re a new Orchestrator landing in the past two weeks. Our high-speed systems are geographically distributed and deployed in a highly automated fashion. This ensures we can move rapidly as new capabilities evolve and other opportunities emerge.

Check us out in Discord and the forums. Excited to be here!!

Hello,

I'm Flo from MozComputing Orchestrator. We are running our orchestrator since 2 months in a Kubernetes cluster for our infrastructure.

Ready to help, we have already contributed for an incorrect entrypoint on the docker container and a miner for HiveOS.

Hi there, Multi region high performing and reliable Orchestrator. Active since May of 2022 our Orchestrators are geographically distributed and highly reliable with 1 gig of connection in all of the nodes.

Check us out in Discord(https://www.discordapp.com/users/435303559974617089). Super excited to be here!

Jonas-pixelfield commented 1 year ago

Hi all, we are group of friends running Pixelfield orchestrator from UK. It was created in September last year. Its still very new but we already have orchestrators in 3 different locations and working hard to keep down time to minimum and keep the scores high. Any questions you can find us on discord or visit our website pixelfield.xyz

I can code and do devops. I am running O/Ts for over a month. Thanks for sending me here.

Hi. I am a new Orchestrator. rarely commit on github - but i sometimes open issues. But for livepeer i did not find issues yet :)

aruncicik commented 6 months ago

Hello all, I'm Arunas with VidWave orchestrator. I'm interested in AI development and integration in to the Livepeer network.

hemann244 commented 3 months ago

Hello all, I am brand new Orchestrator, I am glad I found Livepeer and that I am able to be apart of this ecosystem. I'm really for Text-video feature on Livepeer.

guardian-node commented 3 months ago

Hi all, recently became a proud Orchestrator, Don't have alot of input but I was wondering if LPT could be used for network fee instead of Eth. I was thinking it may help the ecosystem by generating demand for LPT and stand out more for having great tokenomics!

guardian-node commented 3 months ago

Hi all, newish Orch here, While I'm just beginning my journey, I'm eager to expand globally with some fine GPUs, especially considering the growing demand for the Livepeer network. Don't let the name through you off, Our mission is to rug pull centralized video transcoding services providers. https://explorer.livepeer.org/accounts/0x186a59938baf5ca4023cd6f87cc00684bcffdf65/orchestrating

Hi All, new Orch here. Been acting as a node for few years now and ready to become an Orch. I have a fairly substantial rig with lots of encoding capabiltiy not to mention a great low latency fiber optic connection. I love the fact that LivePeer is a peer-to-peer transcoding service that can offer lower cost transcoding services to the world. Happy to be part of the movement!
