What is your project, and what problem does it solve?

Zooo is a location-based live-video platform that redefines the interface for watching and discovering content. On Zooo users are actively exploring their world rather than passively scrolling through content. The platform introduces a novel live-streaming marketplace for activating people to stream from physical locations, enabling the future of live IRL video.

Who is your target user group? How do you plan on getting your users to use this?

Our initial target user group is split into 2: creators and viewers. On the creator side we're targeting travel, outdoors, and IRL creators, particularly at the tail-end of the current market. On the viewer side we are targeting a geographically-minded viewer such as the viewers of those creators and with Geoguessers. We are pursuing direct partnerships with creators.

How did you learn about the Livepeer Grants Program?

Amelia Guertin

Was this project started at a hackathon or another web3 event? Which one?

No

Please include any additional information that you think would be useful in helping us to evaluate your proposal.

Our manifesto: There are now more cameras than humans. Even the most remote places on Earth are online. A generation that habitually films and uploads its daily life is growing into adulthood. So why is it still hard to see what anywhere looks like right now? The current paradigm of doom scrolling and spoon-feeding-the-next-post is fatiguing and decontextualized. The social media timeline makes it hard to know where you are and where you’re going. Zooo is the answer: it’s a globe where live videos are displayed by geographic location, turning passive viewers into active explorers. On Zooo a user can go into a market in Nairobi, hop onto a neon-lit street in Tokyo, then step into an active battlefield in Gaza, all in a single trip. Zooo’s focus on location-based live content elevates videos that are less about the “Me” and more about the “Around-Me”. As a result, Zooo breeds a new kind of influencer: one whose influence is based less on selfie-mode looks and more on creativity and daringness to go places.
