Notes for the 2/1/2018 Community Call

What is Yondon doing?

• Auditing and finding a lot of bugs. Fixing them.
• Doug and Eric doing audits, and Yondon also running through his own process.
• Mid-to-late next week to complete first pass on audit. Buffer period before submission.

Emphasis on continuous reception of content on the ingest nodes

• Would make an enormous difference if the ingest nodes were more resilient to the

Josh to visit NYC the first week or March potentially.

• Working on transcode election functionality

• WebRTC Under the hood

How does WebRTC fit into Livepeer?

• Very relevant because it enables one-to-many low latency broadcast, and it should exist within the Livepeer stack.
• But we do not yet support it and no one is working on it.
• At large scale you actually have to split people into many groups because there is too much noise if you have 100K people chatting in one room.

Text chat in Livepeer?

• One idea is to add chat, and encourage people’s ETH addresses to be visualized.
• In general, there are lots of featuers that developers need support for if they’re going to build great applications - chat, payments, realtime, etc. We can help give people these tools. We can also prioritize the specific functionality we need for Livepeer.tv.

Embed Google Analytics (or some analytics) in the hosted Livepeer player?

Josiah is building a lot of the frontend stuff, so would really value prioritization of features since it’s hard to know what to focus on when there are a million nice-to-have requests.

Chris wins the award for talking the most and moderating.
