Runnning ContrAlto-Mono under Android -- kbd input not accepted

I have a problem running Contralto (Mono version) under Android 11.

The gory details: Operating System: Android 11 using the Termux app Contralto version: v1.2.3.0, obtained from https://github.com/livingcomputermuseum/ContrAlto/releases/download/1.2.3/ContrAlto-mono.zip Steps to reproduce:

• Install packages "sdl2", "mono" and "tigervnc" in termux
• On Android install a VNC viewer e.g. "MultiVNC"
• execute "vncserver -localhost"
• execute "mono ContrAlto exe"
• on Alto console type "load disk 0 xmsmall.dsk" and "start"
• From Android home screen start "MultiVNC"
• The ContrAlto window appears, but does not accept keyboard input. Normally I would type "resume xmsmall.boot" to start Smalltalk-76.
• Additional Comments:
  1. I don't think there is a misconfiguration on the VNC side, since I can start e.g. gnuplot and have it accept keyboard input from the VNC viewer.
  2. I have also started xev(1) and it reports the correct keycodes.

I must confess, that I have no idea, what is going on here. I would be extremely grateful for any hints or suggestions.

My investigation in to this issue has lead me to believe that the mono packagage is somehow broken. I'm currently building mono from source. If that works, I'll close the issue.
