There should be a hamburger menu button on the upper left of the app. When clicked, it opens a sidebar (placed where the TOC is now). The sidebar will have different tabs/buttons - one for the TOC, one for the search function, and one for settings (font size, etc.). When bookmarks, annotations, and other features arrive, they should go there too.
Not only will this be a better UI/UX, but it will pave the way for some sort of mobile version of Livre at some point as well.
