N750DB Access #1285

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. trying to access the router via cyberduck
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I am expecting to get access to the router to update the custom firmware for my
N750DB but however am unable to access via SSH on port 22 and I always get the
message that a connection could not be established. Same problem happens via
Terminal, it just simply says not allowed. Since I don't have any options to
enable SSH in the GUI for this router I have no way of accessing it, even via
port forward which I set to the IP of my laptop with both ports being on 22.
The N750DB is an extension for WiFi for my TP-Link router which by the way did
not run with DDWRT at all and had several issues. Why is there no .BIN file for
the router to just simply upgrade the firmware that way?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using Belkin N750 DB and have a MC

The problem is that I am struggling to install the firmware in the first place.
Reading from your threads I learned that I need to gain access to my router via
SSH which I am not able to do because unlike the Asus it seems that the Belkin
GUI does not feature that option to allow SSH access. When attempting to get
"into" the router via SSH on Terminal or Cyberduck I am unable to connect. I am
using the standard IP 192.168.2.1 at port 22 but fail. 192.168.0.1 is my
TP-link modem that connects PPoP. I have a static internet IP address.

I can't understand anything from this issue, sorry =/
1) What device do you want to update?
2) What device do you want to establish ssh connection to?

I am using a N750DB and have no idea how I can install your custom
firmware. I downloaded the files, uploaded them under "update firmware" or
tried via SSH to access the router but failed. I also downloaded the
firmware onto an USB drive, plugged it into the router, but nothing
happened.

This firmware was tested on ASUS devices only. It is installed using "Firmware
update" webpage, which I think has every router. I guess you are trying to
update USB firmware...
(https://code.google.com/p/rt-n56u/downloads/detail?name=asm1042.tar.bz2 - Am I
right?..) - you should use this archive on Belkin.
