enabled vpi/vci #56

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Watching IPTV in Lithuania.
2. Enabling vpi/vci for each individual port.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Internet and IPTV at the same time

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.1.7f-p8

Please provide any additional information below.

I live in Lithuania and my provider TEO provides IPTV called Gala. But
unfortunately they use coded packets. If i select manual VLAN filter+partitions
VLAN configuration and input IPTV VID 6
(http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/696/n56u.jpg/) i can watch IPTV without
any problems but Internet is not working from any other physical port. If i
select manual VLAN filter and input VID 6 i can no longer watch IPTV but
internet starts working again. Maybe there is a possibility to somehow bridge
WAN to LAN and add possibility to input vpi/vci to each individual physical
port on N56U router so i could watch IPTV and use internet at the same time?
Sorry for such complicated question and accept my apologies if i don't
understand something :)

Hello!
Lucky you are! )) Your provider suggests such services...

Try to set both:
IPTV VID = 6
Internet VID = { 100 if DEC , 64 if DEC->Hex, 256 if HEX->DEC }
Consult your ISP with these settings

Hello,

Thank you you for quick answer. Unfortunately none of these wok form me.
Yesterday i got consultation from one of TEO employ's and i was advised that
100 should be typed in but unfortunately this does not work. GALA TV only works
when Manual VLAN filtering + partitions is selected but as soon as i enter this
mode and type in all VID fields only TV is working and no internet is
available. Maybe you would be able to advice where the problem is? i could
provide screen shots or even let you connect through remote desktop if that
would help.

Kind Regards,
Kasparas

Hi again,

I have received already configured for GALA TV router from the provider. Maybe
you need screenshots of settings? or would you like to connect to it through
remote admistration? I just thought that this might help with this issue.

Thanks and Regards,
Kasparas

Hello! Thank you very much for your kind offer!
Could you please write the model of this router and if it has access to command
line?..
Thanks!

So, is there any modifications? Have same problem. Internet did not use tagged
packets, IPTV use tagged packets (PVID 6).

I guess the title is misleading vpi/vci are used for DSL, VID's are used for
optical.
anyway, no solution so far. Setting VID's only enable IPTV.

Hello,

I have same wish...i want to create gigabit LAN at home with RT N56 routing
everything including O2 TV iptv service (Czech Rep.).

Unfortunately modem Comtrend is 100mbit only and it has special firmware with
dedicated LAN port for O2 TV STB connection.

Because I dont know how to set up RT N56 correctly, i have to keep Comtrend as
a router = no GLAN :(

O2 told me that port which connects STB to router needs to be:

1/ in briged mode
2/ VPI = 8
3/ VCP = 35
4/ QoS set with priority to this port

Many thanks for any leads

Anyone has a solution to VPI/VCI setup?
What i need to setup for my PPPoE conn is:
Encapsulation: LLC
QoS class: UBR
VPI/VCI: 0/86

Anyone knows how to set this up in this firmware??
