Here's an example of what the inner (phenology) circle could sort of look like, but ideally less busy.
Hi Lizzie,
I just pushed a pdf of the draft phenology circles to the JN_conceptfigs folder along with two corresponding illustrator files. Here's the draft I've made so far:
Please let me know if you want any of the colours, text, etc. changed! I tried to remain as faithful to the diagram you drew manually with some slight modifications (adding "storage" to the legend instead of having it on all 3 circles, etc.).
Best regards, Justin
@ngoj1 Thank you! I cannot believe how fast you did this -- especially for how great they look. These look amazing!
I tried to edit the figure, but did so poorly so then just added some notes. Can you make the following changes?
Thank you again!
Hi Lizzie,
I made the adjustments you requested:
Please let me know if there's anything I missed! I just messed with the colours a little bit based on a colour-blind friendly palette as well as some artistic liberty to make the colours fitting given the context of the research but if you prefer the other colour palette instead I can change it.
Best regards, Justin
@ngoj1 Looks amazing -- thank you!
@ngoj1 here's the text of the email I realized I could have added as an issue:
I have a new figure for the manuscript you have been helping on (ms attached) -- see phenologycircles2.jpg for the hand-drawn image I could use your help making into an Illustrator file. It is supposed to have three sets of circles:
1 `set' but just one circle I think) Showing phenological stages -- this one is what I have in the middle (inside).
2 another set that shows growth and reproduction) could be two parts of circles together (as shown) or a gradient of colors with a legend. You can see in a) I show growth and reproduction as separate (as they are in annuals usually) but in b and c they are shown as happening at the same time (as they generally do, somewhat).
3 `set' but just one circle I think) that shows 'storage' (purple)
Check out pg 22 of the pdf for the legend to help get a sense of what I am trying to convey. If you can help with this it would be great -- any help too works -- if you have an hour or two and can just draft the circles etc., that would be a big help!
