Okay, I looked at two major files: the 31 Oct 2013 commit -- which seems the same as Chesson but one tauI was off (0.3 and in Chesson et al. 2004 -- Fig 2 -- it was 0.35) but it seems to have one species always winning by a lot. I then looked at the 6 Nov 2013 ('simplify and correct') commit and this I think is it. You just need to adjust down to 2 species.

Cross check against biomass data in Chesson et al. 2004 (see figures, biomass was bouncing around between 0.02-0.025 I think -- check).
