@lizzieinvancouver I have cleaned the trait data, but was working on calculating the relative growth rate to use instead of height.
I assume that what we want is the relative growth rate between years and not relative to the first year (ie rgr of 2021 since 2019, and rgr 2022 since 2021), but let me know if this is incorrect.
The issue that arises, is that we do get quite a few negative values. Between 2019 and 2021 about 3% of values are negative, but between 2022 and 2021 37% of values produce negative rgr (which is concerning).
Most are relatively small values, but a few are larger and suggest either human error or that the plants heights changed considerably.
@DeirdreLoughnan Okay. Since you've been to the garden, do you have any thoughts on what is causing this (and thus, how to handle it)?
@DeirdreLoughnan Clean up the trait data enough to run Cat's intercept only model on them (year by year) ... set up a new issue for the analyses when you get there.
