Since that report was published, Nortek updated the Vector software so that you no longer have control over that drop-menu. Now, that box is 'greyed-out', and the text reads: "dAng dVel Orient".
Simply clicking the "IMU" checkbox is all that is needed to perform motion correction. The dAng, dVel, Orient data will be saved, and this is all that is needed for motion correction (no extra data). There may be ways to get more data out of the Microstrain IMU, but that is not needed for motion correction. For further information, consult the Nortek System Integrator Manual, and/or the Microstrain Data Communications protocol.
Commit 3a10b4a329c23c9fb415af229ebf60b9ae902ada updated the ADV config files for version 1.39.06 of the Vector software. This removes the disconcerting "check your configuration" message when loading these files using that version of the software.
Figure 5 of the "Manual to Quantifying Inflow at Tidal Energy Sites" indicates that one should select "Accl AngR Mag xF" in order to perform motion correction of ADV data. However, it is not possible to select this setting.
