Could you clarify what you mean by "Either way you shouldn't be attacking
yourself."?
To the best of my knowledge, since you are technically just choosing "which
cards to play" for another player, attack cards should affect you when played
as the other player.
In a simplistic situation, let's say you have three players. Player 1 is "you",
Player 2 is "Bob", Player 3 is "Lisa". You play Possession on your turn, and
get to choose what card Bob plays on his turn. Everyone has 5 cards in their
hands, and while "Possessing" Bob, you play Militia.
Player 1 and Player 3 should now have 3-card hands, while Player 2 has a 4-card
hand (due to having played Militia). I can't tell if you're saying this isn't
what happened but should have, or that this is what happened but shouldn't
have, or that this isn't what happened nor is it what should have happened.

On reflection I think you may be right that you should attack your original
hand, but that hand must be displayed to complete that action. That does
need to be rectified.

Yeah, attack cards played from a possessed hand are working properly. Comment
1 is correct.
There's already an open issue about being able to see your own hand while you
take someone else's Possession turn.
