Task:

provide a blueprint about:
- which artifacts exist (our build processes need to produce those artifacts)
- how to deploy the artifacts
- which configuraiton files are required to run the system

Goal:

make the system launchable with a single command
abstract the configuration from the implementation
make the system highly configurable -> software-as-code / infrastructure-as-code
