Cool article, code works, just need some adjustments. Here is what I changed to make things more reusable (for me).

Hi! The code in here was written 15 years ago for a python drawing program that no longer exists.

I appreciate the effort to contribute back, but this code isn't alive any longer - I recommend you fork it if you want to build something alive with it. Do let me know if you end up with something cool!
