What needs does it meet? It only meets the needs of the capitalists who want to gain profits with the least time and money. They don’t care whether the paintings are art or have souls. They only care about money.

I still, to this point in time, have not gotten a clear answer. Sometimes silence speaks louder than words, at least in my personal opinion.

I couldn't agree more... I won't discount that the devs are probably very busy and don't have time to respond right away, but each passing day does not give me hope... I do think that the question I asked is something they would know already though and could easily and quickly address.

But I'm more and more thinking two reasons why they haven't: 1. As I said previously, they don't actually have a legitimate use case scenario or 2. Since I have already explained why educational and entertainment use case scenarios are not legitimate they don't see the point in discussing this any further because the flaws are so obvious that they fail to have any way to defend against them.

In both cases, it is admitting that there is not a legitimate use case scenario. Then that brings up the question of what is the point of making this at all then? Is it a personal project to develop a skillset? If so, then why share it with the public who can easily abuse it? Is it actually to create far inferior educational/entertainment content? If so, then why not acknowledge that it is far inferior to educational/entertainment content created by humans?

The only conclusion I can possibly come to without having any of these questions answered is that it MUST have been created for deceptive purposes and the guideline to not use it as such is there simply as a pathetic way to cover their butts when it IS abused in this way. Because if the devs actually did care about it not being used in such a way, they would absolutely make efforts to ensure it isn't beyond one sentence at the end of their read me.

This isn't a question of IF, it's a question of WHEN because we have already seen artists directly having AI used against them through other means (e.g. they upload a sketch and then someone posts an AI generated "finished" piece made without their consent).

At the very least, it is the responsibility of the devs to ensure it is not used for deceptive purposes. And if they care about the harm this causes artists, then they absolutely will ensure it isn't. But if they do nothing, well, actions speak louder than words and we can only come to such negative conclusions about the devs.

The ball is completely in their court at this time about how this will go in the future.

Personally, I hope to see this project removed from the public space and become private.

I am also going to mute this thread. Absolutely the devs can have the last word if they do choose to comment. I'm not here to start an argument and I believe I have brought up all my points. I work 3 jobs and this thread has already exhausted me enough.

OVAWARE commented 1 month ago

Since I have already explained why educational and entertainment use case scenarios are not legitimate they don't see the point in discussing this any further because the flaws are so obvious that they fail to have any way to defend against them.

There is simply no case where educational and entertainment are not legitimate, it is up to the developer and users to decide if a program is educational or entertainment based on personal preferences

  1. Sharing with the public could be done to allow the project to be improved or simply to share work as when I work hard on personal projects I may want others to be able to try out my work
  2. Simply because something is inferior does not make it pointless, there is not only perfection and trash

Personally, I hope to see this project removed from the public space and become private.

Simply impossible in the modern digital world, this project already has 100+ forks and likely much more downloads

Hey ai might be unstoppable, so i hope rokos basilisk will be a thing. Thats where you want it to be stoppable.

Ahhh, I mean, I want it to be unstoppable at chemistry, genetics, pharmacology, physics etc.

I want massive GPU or ASCI AI datacenters replicating the work of thousands of scientists.

I want to not have to find the one engineer per thousand or so that we have now. I want thousands of AI engineers running 24/7 for the betterment of all mankind! And, hopefully, hope beyond hope, there will not be a single copyright in sight.

You have to tell the system when to stop, otherwise you get a paperclip scenario.

Then you can already do that, rwkv has infinity ctx, and same compute complexity, but not enough research. Transformer have lots of research, but needs quadratic compute and have limited context length.

If dilated attention with longnet would work, i guess the singularity wouldve been already there.

Now to physics, can be simulated, and nvidia does this already. Then there is ai automaticly analysing and testing 800 new material, fully automatic.

Alphafold 3 is also a thing.

Critiq gpt will be a thing, and their model should be around 120T (got that from a leak and based on how many H100 they have, mathematically with the lion optimiser). Automating ai research, gpt 4 looking at its own source code to find mistakes etc.

There you already have thousands of people doing research on that topic which is way better than any ai automation for now.

Reality is much more difficult to let ai run their own research.

packetlost commented 1 month ago

No. It is not. Autonomous Research Agents are quite real and coming up fast. They have noting to do with "the singularity." Do not Reductio ad absurdum me, sir.

A year ago, a year and a half ago, we had no public use AI to speak of... and now... Everywhere.

Remember how AI video was, "five years away," "ten years away," "never?" Peek-a-boo! Here we are.

Naugustogi commented 1 month ago

Tell me one thing that has changed your life with ai. They can research for thousands of years and find a penny. Automating art and video is a great idea, we can have more time doing depressing work and make happyness illegal.

You dont need ai to automate things.

packetlost commented 1 month ago

You absolutely must be sealioning me? You cannot be serious.

Easy example, I just made a product information for a product listing. In the span of a hour I had

  1. The entire body written using references to scientific research
  2. Every single claim made cited in situ
  3. The compete and perfect References section cited down to the exact paragraph
  4. Had it written in a threatening and fear-inducing tone given the research showing the competitor's product is trash

In the next hour.... I did it again for another product. A week's worth of labor in two hours. I am paid for the entire time for the project and for an early completion bonus.

$ $ Hey! $ Hey, hey! $ $ $

Naugustogi commented 1 month ago

Work as slow as possible and earn as much as you want, work as fast and you have no pay at all. Automating your own job is also a thing that will just throw you out of the company.

If you think money makes happy, no it doesnt. Its paper, a construct in your head, it has no value in the real world.

packetlost commented 1 month ago

There is no company. I am the worker; I am the boss. I literally get paid more and faster. Drag your knuckles harder, stranger. I don't have to out run the future, I just have to out run... YOU. >:D

packetlost commented 1 month ago

If you think money makes happy, no it doesnt. Its paper, a construct in your head, it has no value in the real world.

That is 100% defeatism. #LoserTalk

If you think that what you are now is the best that you have got, you go ahead and sit down in your grave. You have already lost at this life: You get comfortable now.

Naugustogi commented 1 month ago

I wont have to run as fast, i can chill in snail pace and enjoy life, there will be people who are still slower, that gets the lion first. And people who are so fast, their life running out faster. Are you working to life or living to work?

I dont need to work if i dont spend stuff for useless things. I give and take, open source will take the world.

https://www.axios.com/2024/07/15/openai-chatgpt-reasoning-ai-levels

As if to punctuate my previous points on Autonomous Research Agents... a story shows OpenAI says they are closer... the very same day.

"An OpenAI document Bloomberg reproduced defines the levels: Chatbots: AI with conversational language Reasoners: human-level problem-solving Agents: systems that can take actions Innovators: AI that can aid in invention Organizations: AI that can do the work of an organization State of play: At a company meeting last week, per Bloomberg, OpenAI leaders told staff their systems currently worked at level 1 but were "on the cusp" of achieving level 2.

Separately, Reuters reported details of a long-rumored project at OpenAI aimed at developing AI that can reason at a human level, plan ahead, work out problems with multiple steps and independently perform "deep research."

When I say, "The technological rise has become decoupled from our historical references." I mean it. Even though my position was correct, I was in no better of a place to predict the future. Anyone that predicts the future is likely a grifter. There is no perspective from which we can see to get an angle on the issue. The next person to know the current state of AI is the person that beats a problem. Everyone else must stand in slack-jawed awe of what they hath wrought for a moment to acclimate to our new environment. Weeping and wailing does nothing; note how you have never thanked someone for being emotional.

noxiouscardiumdimidium commented 1 month ago

lol, well, i've been "predicting" this for two years. all i had to do was look at everything Ilya Sutskever ever fixated/focused on, and incorporate it into a single theoretical architecture.

Q*/Sandstorm/Arrakis/Stargate/Stargazer/Strawberry/"HER":

"Here's a breakdown of everything we've incorporated into the integrated reinforcement learning algorithm:

Components Integrated:

  1. *A Search**:

    • Guidance for Action Selection: Using heuristic-guided action selection to improve the exploration process.
  2. Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO):

    • Clipped Surrogate Objective: Ensuring stable policy updates by clipping the probability ratio to prevent excessive policy updates.
    • Policy Update: Updating the policy network using the PPO objective to balance exploration and exploitation effectively.
  3. Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG):

    • Actor-Critic Framework: Utilizing separate actor and critic networks to handle continuous action spaces.
    • Deterministic Policy Gradient: Using the gradient of the Q-values with respect to actions for policy improvement.
  4. Hindsight Experience Replay (HER):

    • Enhanced Experience Replay: Modifying the goals in retrospect to learn from both successes and failures, especially useful in sparse reward environments.
  5. Q-learning:

    • Value Function Updates: Applying Q-learning principles to update the critic network using the Bellman equation for temporal difference learning.
    • Off-Policy Learning: Leveraging experience replay to learn from past experiences and update policies in an off-policy manner.
  6. QLoRA and Convolutional Network Adaptor Blocks:

    • Frozen Pretrained Weights: Utilizing pretrained weights and training low-rank adapters to enable continuous updates while preserving the knowledge of the pretrained model.
    • Convolutional Adaptation: Incorporating convolutional network blocks to adapt the model effectively to new data and tasks.

Algorithmic Steps:

  1. Initialize Parameters:

    • Frozen weights, trainable low-rank adapters, target networks, replay buffer, and hyperparameters.
  2. Experience Collection:

    • Using A* for heuristic guidance, selecting actions with exploration noise, interacting with the environment, and storing experiences.
  3. Hindsight Experience Replay (HER):

    • Creating new goals for each transition and modifying rewards to generate additional learning opportunities.
  4. Sample and Update:

    • Sampling batches from the replay buffer, calculating target values, and updating networks.
  5. Critic Network Update (Q-learning):

    • Minimizing the loss for the critic network using the Bellman equation.
  6. Actor Network Update (DDPG):

    • Applying deterministic policy gradient to update the actor network.
  7. Policy Update (PPO):

    • Calculating the probability ratio and optimizing the clipped surrogate objective for stable policy updates.
  8. Target Network Soft Updates:

    • Updating the target networks using soft updates to ensure stability in training.
  9. Repeat Until Convergence:

    • Continuing the process iteratively until the model converges.

Single Expression:

[ \begin{aligned} &\text{Initialize } \theta{\text{adapter}}, \phi{\text{adapter}}, \theta{\text{targ}}, \phi{\text{targ}}, \mathcal{D} \ &\text{For each episode, for each time step } t: \ &\quad at = \pi{\theta{\text{frozen}} + \theta{\text{adapter}}}(s_t) + \mathcal{N}_t \ &\quad \text{Execute } a_t, \text{ observe } rt, s{t+1} \ &\quad \mathcal{D} \leftarrow \mathcal{D} \cup {(s_t, a_t, rt, s{t+1}, dt)} \ &\quad \text{For each transition, create HER goals and store} \ &\quad \text{Sample batch } {(s, a, r, s', d, g)} \sim \mathcal{D} \ &\quad y = r + \gamma (1 - d) Q{\phi{\text{frozen}} + \phi{\text{adapter}}}(s', \pi{\theta{\text{targ}}}(s')) \ &\quad L(\phi{\text{adapter}}) = \frac{1}{N} \sum (Q{\phi{\text{frozen}} + \phi{\text{adapter}}}(s, a) - y)^2 \ &\quad \nabla{\theta{\text{adapter}}} J(\theta_{\text{adapter}}) = \frac{1}{N} \sum \nablaa Q{\phi{\text{frozen}} + \phi{\text{adapter}}}(s, a) |{a=\pi{\theta{\text{frozen}} + \theta{\text{adapter}}}(s)} \nabla{\theta{\text{adapter}}} \pi{\theta{\text{frozen}} + \theta{\text{adapter}}}(s) \ &\quad r(\theta) = \frac{\pi{\theta{\text{frozen}} + \theta{\text{adapter}}}(a|s)}{\pi{\theta{\text{frozen}} + \theta{\text{old adapter}}}(a|s)} \ &\quad L^{\text{CLIP}}(\theta{\text{adapter}}) = \mathbb{E} \left[ \min \left( r(\theta) \hat{A}, \text{clip}(r(\theta), 1-\epsilon, 1+\epsilon) \hat{A} \right) \right] \ &\quad \theta{\text{targ}} \leftarrow \tau (\theta{\text{adapter}} + \theta{\text{frozen}}) + (1 - \tau) \theta{\text{targ}} \ &\quad \phi{\text{targ}} \leftarrow \tau (\phi{\text{adapter}} + \phi{\text{frozen}}) + (1 - \tau) \phi{\text{targ}} \ &\text{Repeat until convergence} \end{aligned} ]

This breakdown summarizes the integration of A*, PPO, DDPG, HER, and Q-learning into a single cohesive framework with continuous updates using QLoRA and convolutional network adaptor blocks."

I don’t want to say anything anymore. Your disclaimer is an extremely irresponsible act. You clearly know that it has no positive meaning at all, but you just want to evade responsibility with a disclaimer. I respect the fruits of your labor, but I also question the purpose and usefulness of your open source and research project, and developing such a project with only negative connotations will never be recognized by most people. You lack the most basic humanistic care you should have.

To put it bluntly, no matter what you say, it will not help. Unless, you can upload anti-AI tools simultaneously while developing.

To think that your mind allowed you to type that into a public forum... Can you read it again for me and think better of it?

packetlost commented 1 month ago

You've not replied in a timely manner... So I will enunciate myself further. You, the authoritarian Karen, demand of a PRO-AI person that they create ANTI-AI tools. Somehow, your mind does not comprehend the problem.

"Unless, you can upload anti-AI tools simultaneously while developing."

Would you demand a firefighter start a fire? Would you demand a nationalist burn their country's flag? Would you demand a Christian summon the dark lord Satan?

What were you even thinking about? Had bigotries overwhelmed your mind? At what starting point did your faulty logic begin? What about your life and/or upbringing lead you to believe that you get to tell others what they may do? What made you think someone would comply? Did you put on your jackboots before you typed it? You demand compliance because you have feelz that you don't know what to do with. That is not how an adult behaves; that is how a toddler behaves. Oh? You want it and you want it now?

Let us all stop what we are doing and pause our lives, a dictate from the god-king hath been delivered upon stone tablets!

Rejoice! For we have been told what we are allowed to do!

You might be able to cherrypick a frame out of the work product, but it does not do anything outside of the samples. Brand new.

First, you admit that you have watched your Luddite brethren lemming themselves off the rhetorical cliff. Then, you proceed to hurl yourself off too. In what way is it that doing so seemed logical or advantageous to you?

Ludditism is dey-terk-er-jerbs meme nonsense. People should not make themselves into memes. That which cannot be stopped should not be fought. Serious people do not tilt at windmills! I do, though, love to laugh. So then, in that vein, I thank you.

Fun fact about that “lemmings” factoid:

Lemmings do not naturally commit mass suicide. This misinformation originates from a nature documentary, where the camera man chased lemmings off a cliff, and then forgot that they were there threatening the lemmings in the first place.

Quite an apt comparison between cameramen threatening lemmings and being pretentiously unaware about it, and AI scammers threatening artists and being pretentiously unaware about it, wouldn’t you agree?

Nobody fears you. Nobody respects you. All you have brought to this thread is arrogant disregard for human beings, so much that I struggle to classify you as human.

I will again pose the central question: What legitimate use case does this AI have?

This thread and the other now-closed issues amply tells everyone that there is no use case but fraud, and the lobotomized halfwits verbally fellating Illyasviel here all lack the creativity to come up with a single use case for which there is demand from artists that can’t be fulfilled with a real speedpaint.

The truth of the matter is that this repository violates GitHub’s content guidelines on spreading misinformation and disinformation.

packetlost commented 1 month ago

Soooo much to unpack in your delirium. Let us begin:

Nobody fears you. Nobody respects you. All you have brought to this thread is arrogant disregard for human beings, so much that I struggle to classify you as human.

Only the weak and fearful think the way that you do. Nobody ever said to fear me; your fear is self-induced. What don't you fear? You fear AI. You fear tech. You fear progress. I bet you fear and froth at the mouth over crypto too. You fear that what you thought was a skill turned out to be nothing. What amounts to a toaster oven can do what you do, Luddite.

I will again pose the central question: What legitimate use case does this AI have?

You will, again, not use comas for clauses properly. You parade your poor education around as if it is a virtue. You scream out your irrational fears and then get so very mad when everyone laughs. But, you are, in fact, note the comas, laughable.

This thread and the other now-closed issues amply tells everyone that there is no use case but fraud, and the lobotomized halfwits verbally fellating Illyasviel here all lack the creativity to come up with a single use case for which there is demand from artists that can’t be fulfilled with a real speedpaint.

You, laughably, call others "lobotomized halfwits." Yet, it is you that cannot use comas properly. Yet, it is you using playground insults. Yet, it is you that has lost the ability to reason due to fear. Ludditism has consumed your mind, yt, you refuse to seek a cure. When was this fellating and why are you thinking of it? Do your thoughts tend to roam to genitals when the adults are talking? Are these topics too much for you that your lizard brain must fill your mind with crass body parts and analogies?

The truth of the matter is that this repository violates GitHub’s content guidelines on spreading misinformation and disinformation.

You violate GitHub’s content guidelines on spreading misinformation and disinformation. YOU spread the defeatist fear that Luddites spew. The fear that stokes a Luddite rebellion and the disinformation of anti-technology sentiment. A blasphemer against modernity... The ungrateful in the face of the miracles of science.

Then again companys will use this for bad, artist wont use it at all, some researchers interested in that technics maybe, but most of it are people who generate false proof of their non existing skills. There will be no trust anymore. If everyone is a secret you will constantly live in despair.

I wont scream if there is a machine that can read your thoughts and make a picture based on what you want to draw. Thats the same as making it yourself just 1000 times faster.

This on the other hand, you throw something in and get a replicate, where half of the video doesnt even make sense. I considered using it for whatever, yet any other controlnet mechanics beats this by a huge margin. Just because something is possible doesnt mean that you have to develope it.

Nice circular reasoning

Where exactly is my "conclusion of an argument assumed in one of the premises."

not easy if english is my second language.

English is capitalized. Everyone has Google Translate. You are not doing anyone any favors when online.

My job is electrician automation technics..

Technics is never correct. And, nobody cares what you do. This is not a date. You'd be naked by now.

So im basically automating my own job of automation?

Apostrophes. Good. Goodbye job! The lack of a job is called freedom. Do not mourn your chains.

Lets say ai is unavoidable, why being shit to others in that way?

Let's say? There is no situation where it is not unavoidable. But, again, you are not thinking properly. Nobody, except Luddites, wants to turn a gift down.

I finetuned my own models, and they will never see the light of the day.

Hypocrisy. "Rules For Thee But None For Me"

Thats how it should be.

Apostrophes. That is not for you to say, authoritarian. Telling others what to do is not your job. Everyone gets to have everything thing and you get no say.

Being local and appreciate what you have.

Talking point word salad. Local does not matter. Appreciating what you have is for people happy in poverty. The rest of us have ambition.

Then again companys will use this for bad

Apostrophes. You do not get to speak for nameless people. Weasel words.

artist wont use it at all

Apostrophes. You do not get to speak for nameless people. Weasel words.

some researchers interested in that technics maybe

Technicals or technology, but never "technics." You do not get to speak for nameless people. Weasel words.

but most of it are people who generate false proof

You get to decide that random people are criminals? So much for the court of law! You do not get to speak for nameless people. Weasel words.

of their non existing skills.

Like yours?

There will be no trust anymore.

Trust is for fools.

If everyone is a secret

Nobody is truly honest to anyone.

you will constantly live in despair.

You will. Nobody else. You did this to yourself. It exists only in your mind.

I wont scream

Yes, you will. You are already and nothing has even happened!

if there is a machine that can read your thoughts

You mean an fMRI? We have that now. Your fear knows no bounds.

and make a picture based on what you want to draw.

Who needs that? Generative AI via Stable Diffusion already does that by typing!

Thats the same as making it yourself just 1000 times faster.

Yes. But you HATE that. Work is work, work is progress. No looking backward.

This on the other hand, you throw something in and get a replicate, where half of the video doesnt even make sense.

Apostrophes. There are already working video generators. You are not even keeping up with this topic and yet you would speak as if you are knowable. You are not.

I considered using it for whatever

Like false proof?

yet any other controlnet mechanics beats this by a huge margin.

Wallowing in your hypocrisy!

Just because something is possible doesnt mean that you have to develope it.

Apostrophes! DEVELOP. Just because words can be misspelled doesn't mean that you have to wound everyone with your ignorance. YOU do not get to tell people how they may develop.

It is not illegal and you are the boss of nobody. You get no say. But... you are allowed to cry as much as you would, so clearly, prefer.

Authoritarianism is garbage, you might want to throw it away.

Even if you are right, i still don't understand the whole thing of the why.

packetlost commented 1 month ago

You are not owed understanding.
