Synonyms #214

These commits are mostly about support for synonyms, partial cognates and other multi-value cell. Some changes that should be only in #207 may have slid in, because I was working on these things in parallel.

My handling of missing values is not good yet. I'm working on a fix.

Ah. I still have an unexpected unicode character somewhere tripping up the Python 2.7 test, as is my wont.
