The more I look into this, the more it seems to be groundbreaking work on the order of the invention of SVMs or Multiple Correspondence Analysis. Sure, it builds up on Laplacian eigenmaps and some near-incomprehensible cat theory version of something that may or may not be related to simplicial homology. But everything builds up on something.

Maybe umap-learn needs to print "made by wizards from the future" when calling "fit"?

When trying to describe how amazing this algorithm is to my wife I said it's like alien technology.
