Alright, you know what time it is: meeting minutes! Since we spent all of our time on the timestamps, this is more a meeting transcript than a recap. I plan to stick to focusing on the website/presentation for our next meeting. If there's anything you want to talk about concerning this meeting, comment below! Our next meeting is back to Monday.
P.S. I purposely waited on these meeting minutes, so it's going to reflect changes made after our meeting on Wednesday!
Next Meeting: 13 April 2020
Recap:
Coordinates
As of right now, we did all of them! Hooray for us!
I have to go through and make sure that they have different ids if they have different coordinates, ex. id="cityStreet." Don't freak if you see that I made some changes to the XML files; it's just me making sure the XQuery file will work.
Time Stamps
I underestimated how long they were going to take, but we were able to get them done during the allotted time mostly.
Update @amberpeddicord, but I just went in and did the timestamps for episode 13.
I don't remember if I told you guys, but the date(2004-01-10) on the timestamps is the date when episode 1 came out! Just a fun tidbit.
Schematron
Thanks to @smdunn921 for commenting on the agenda! Blue is good, so that's all I was worried about concerning the Schematron.
Project Checkpoint 5
PRESENTATION DATE: April 17
I planned for April 15, but that might be good for us in the long run as we might get more done or will have more time if we get other work during the week. Our meeting on Monday will focus more on the presentation, and I'll work on the map this weekend.
Pitt-Oakland will have their presentations on April 15, and 17 at 10 am. I won't be able to see them since I have a class, but let me know if you guys can. Dr. B mentioned that one project was also using QGIS so that it might be helpful to us for any ideas. Shannon said she might, but don't stress if you guys can't.
I still plan to make an issue about Project Checkpoint 5, but it will be pretty broad. I'll mention the significant parts of our project, not necessarily small details.
Next Meeting
It doesn't say it up top, but our next meeting is Monday. Since our presentation isn't until Friday, I'm not too opposed to a Wednesday meeting, but I think right now, we're all set for a Monday meeting.
@BMT45 you surprised me, but feel free to come to another session if you want.
Surprise surprise, we did not have time for this. ANYWAYMap - QGIS
Thanks, @ebeshero, and @frabbitry for the help! I'm wary of asking for help for some reason, but it was beneficial, and now I'll be able to make the map! (This issue was what I wanted to ask you Fiona, but thankfully it was answered in class)
Also, thanks @smdunn921, and @amberpeddicord! With your guys' help, I'll be able to spend the whole weekend on the map.
Network Analysis/SVG
There's not much to say about this honestly. We have something to present for both, and I don't think we necessarily need more of either but keep running your ideas across me!
Any ideas are appreciated, and I'll support any of what you guys want to do!
As of right now, I think the focus will be getting Amber's Network Analysis on the site.
It was surprisingly shorter than expected, so I'm going to say that's a good thing. I'll give updates on the map at our next meeting, and everyone, spend some time thinking about how to start presenting our website. It didn't register until today, but someone will probably have to screen share during the presentation, and I'm going to be real, I don't want to be that person. Also, we did learn some Javascript, so maybe think about whether or not you wish to use it anywhere on the site. It's being used on the Methodology, so that's fun. That's all for now, and I'll see everyone at the next meeting! Have a beautiful day!
