2 years ago Finally installed it with docker. Docker let avoid much problems
If you need it then just choose one of these docker images for bWAPP:
https://github.com/eystsen/pentestlab raesene/bwapp hackersploit/bwapp-docker
After clicking on install there is no message about the database has been created appears. Also after login there is nothing to view.

I've created new MySQL/MariaDB user for bWAPP with that guide https://superuser.com/a/1340331/576332 and installation process nicely done for official one bWAPP dist.
But the problem with official one is that SQL Injections challenges doesn't works at all.
