Section rearrangement on site home #64

Hello everyone! I'm on Moodle 4.3.3 (build: 20240301) and academi is on 4.3.3 (build: 2024041700).

I have noticed that site admins can rearrange the site home sections built into moodle from Site administration -> Site home settings. By "built into moodle", I mean the sections named "Announcements", "List of courses", "List of categories", "Combo list" and "Course search box". My current layout of these "moodle" sections are:

  1. Announcements
  2. List of courses
  3. List of categories

Now, with that in mind, I would like to be able to "enrich" that current layout with some sections from academi, such as "Homepage slider", "Promoted courses", "Site features", "Marketing spot", etc. So, my "perfect" section layout would be this one:

  1. Homepage silder (academi)
  2. Promoted courses (academi)
  3. Announcements (moodle)
  4. List of courses (moodle)
  5. List of categories (moodle)
  6. Site features (academi)
  7. Marketing spot (academi)
  8. Footer (academi)

I hope I made myself clear. I think this feature will enhance academi a lot, and it would integrate with moodle core perfectly and seamlessly.

Cheers!

Hi JuaniV2002

Thanks for your feedback

In the site home section rearrangement,

our Academi theme users are already utilizing these section layout blocks. Users who are already familiar with the current layout might be confused when they upgrade to the section arrangements.

We are planning to add some configurations in the next upgrade to make it easier for users to rearrange sections while maintaining control over their layout.

This will ensure that users can continue to use their familiar layout and avoid any confusion.

Thank you
