LM Studio 0.2.17 does not start on Windows 11 #33

Hello,

I do not require a fix my self but I thought I'd write it here so if someone else is having the problems the developers are aware of it.

OS: Windows 11 Pro Issue: LM Studio 0.2.17 does not start and does not show any UI Tried restarting the machine -incase something was wrong with my current session- but it did not fix it.

I personally fixed this by uninstalling and installing 0.2.16 and from within it downloaded 0.2.17 and it worked! a "fresh" installation of 0.2.17 was not working on my Windows 11. I hope this helps someone.

0.2.17 doesn't work for me on Windows 10 Pro.

Hi @Kheiden, can you please share what exactly is happening in your case?

Unfortunately there isn't much detail to share. I install 0.2.17 for Windows 10 Pro, try to open the app, and there is no indication that the app has opened. There is no entry related to this application in the Event Viewer.

I'm unable to locate 0.2.16 for Windows, so I'm unable to attempt the step mentioned in https://github.com/lmstudio-ai/.github/issues/33#issue-2204041300

@Kheiden this worked for me https://releases.lmstudio.ai/windows/0.2.16/latest/LM-Studio-0.2.16-Setup.exe I just followed the current path scheme and changed versions so I believe you can go to 15 even

Ah thanks for the URL. I confirm that downloading this version and upgrading to 0.2.17 worked for me.

I am having the same issue on Windows 11 pro. I try to start Lm studio and it crashes.

I got a black window after a flash of a normal screen. LM Studio used to run fine on my laptop in version 0.2.23, but I got this issue after the update to 0.2.24. Edited: To fix the crash, I need to uninstall LM Studio ,delete .cache folder and then reinstall it again. 🥲

Hi there,

Im with the same problem, I have tried lm studio 0.2.16 and the latest, none start properly. I have used dependencywalker to analize whats happening and I get a lot of modules and extensions not found, attached on excel. Modules not found.xlsx
