0.3.5 just hangs after installation #170

After the update, LM Studio just hangs. Windows 10. Worked fine until LM Studio v0.2.31 and Llama 3.1 The error was "(Exit code: -1073740791). Unknown error. Try a different model and/or config." Never managed to load any model since then, uninstalled, reinstalled, all in vain. And finally with 0.3.5 it just hangs after installation. The window is not responding.

Thanks @yavannadil21 does it continue after sometime or does it hang forever? Is it the same result if you restart the app?

It hanged after upgrade, then I uninstalled it and reinstalled again, still hangs - for longer then my patience permitted, at least for 5 minutes or more. Can try to leave it overnight...

@yagil i had this same error after 0.3.5 upgrade (i restarted the application multiple times) but was able to fix by manually killing the conhost child processes. after that, the issue never reoccurred on subsequent starts

Hello, I am facing the same issue where LM Studio opens but doesn't respond to any inputs. I've tried several solutions like reinstalling with registry cleanup and restarting my PC, but nothing has helped so far.

Can someone please explain in detail how to find and identify the related conhost.exe process that might be causing the problem or interfering with LM Studio? Any guidance or specific tools and steps to track down and isolate this process would be appreciated.

Similar issue. Any model throws me an -1073740791, and sometimes error 0, and won't load. However, the app itself doesn't crash. It just doesn't load any model using CUDA.

I've even updated the drivers to the latest version, and installed the CUDA toolkit. Both didn't solve the issue.

Yeah, stopped crashing, but doesn't work։ can't load any model. lms log stream is silent.

Windows 10 Pro 22H2 19045.5131 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.60 GHz
