What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. left system running after taking a turn, 1st turn.
2. when I came back saw this message.
3. see attached screenshot

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? expect to see the same 
screen as when I went away. Instead I saw this error message.

I was playing on a laptop on a network with an intermittent connection.

Yep, that's the usual error when there is no internet connection. Unfortunately, if I just detect all status code exceptions and show a nicer screen to users saying they need to restore internet to continue, I think it might catch some other error situations too. I'll have to look into if that exception has some fields I can check to make sure I only show a nice network lost screen only when the error is actually the network being lost and not something like the server being down.
