When using AFC to drive the SFP RTM, some pins could not drive properly the I2C bus, apparently because the current voltage translator (ICs 68, 69 ,70 and 71) cannot drive enough current to overcome bus capacitance and pull-up.
João Britto suggested changing the ICs to a pin-compatible version that supply more power.
