Fieldmap analysis of model 12 with quadrupole correction shims. #2

  1. dipolar and quadrupolar fields (as compared to spec.):

@ +0deg. DeltaBL = -0.014% DeltaKL = -0.005% @ -3deg. DeltaBL = -0.079% DeltaKL = -3.760% @ +3deg. DeltaBL = -0.014% DeltaKL = +3.780%

  1. higher order multipoles do not seem to have changed appreciably.

new segmented model was inserted in the AT lattice model but renormalization of integrated quadrupole was performed (since pole tilt is supposed to correct stray quadrupolar fields). When this was done a tune shift was observed due to the change of longitudinal distribution of the quadrupolar field in BC: dNux = -0.010 and dNuy = -0.006.

Results for -3deg shim are available. No reduction of beam lifetime or dynamical acceptance. KL shim of -3deg APPROVED. DA calculations for +3deg are running and results are pending.

results for +3deg and _3deg are in. No important deterioration of beam long-term stability.
