Firefox automatic updates with Greesemonkey doesn't seem to work #4

I use this script in chrome and Firefox. My Google Chrome with Tampermonkey updates the script automatically. However, in Firefox the script doesn't appear to automatically update, every time there was a new release I had to manually update the script. For example, 2 days ago 1.5.13 was released but today I still have 1.5.12 in Firefox while chrome has had 1.5.13 since the day it was released. I have the automatically update add-ons option selected in Firefox and when I installed the script I just followed the directions given to install it (clicking the url). I'm not sure what's causing it to not update.

That's strange, on my machine it updates just fine, are your firefox/greasemonkey versions up-to-date?

Try going to: Manage userscripts > Mangaupdates group fix > (right click) Check updates The check updates or force check updates should be available (not greyed out)

I'm going to realease a new version so you can check in a few minutes.

I believe my Greesemonkey and Firefox are both up to date. (Firefox: 27.0.1 and Greesemonkey 1.15) I right clicked on Mangaupdates group fix and I'm able to click on "Find updates" but forced find updates is greyed out. In order to update the script in Firefox I would click on Find updates and it would then update the script. I checked that my chrome has version 1.5.14 while my Firefox still has version 1.5.12. So manually going to the manage userscripts section, I am able to update the script myself but my Firefox/Greesemonkey doesn't seem to want to automatically update it for some reason.

All seems correct, i don't know what it could be. If this is your only greasemonkey script you could try uninstalling the script and greasemonkey and then reinstall both.

@Ouxhi Hi!, if you still have problems you could try the new online version.

Ouxhi commented 10 years ago

I've uninstalled the standard version and installed the online version (1.6.7). In Firefox I have the update add-ons automatically option checked too. The latest version of the script seems to be 1.6.9 (as of this posting, the script was updated to 1.6.9 about 4 hours ago), but I have 1.6.7 so perhaps my Firefox hasn't automatically checked for an update yet. I suppose I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if when I start up Firefox if it'll update it to 1.6.9. It's still entirely possible that I'm the only one with this issue too though.

The add-on manager in Firefox states that the online version is still 1.6.7 today. I tried having Firefox search for an update but it says that it cannot find one. In the standard version I was still able to manually update it because Firefox would still be able to find updates for it when I forced it to search for updates, I'm not sure why it can't find the 1.6.9 version of the online one.

Oh, i forgot, the version doesn't matter on the online version since the groups aren't part of it.

I see. Then it seems to be working, I'm able to see the group links on MangaUpdates just fine. Thanks for all the work you've put into this.
